What a fabulous weekend!
The family and I packed up my mobile design studio and traveled to Ohio!
Our family and friends were gathering to celebrate my grandma's 90th birthday (doesn't she look amazing?!) and to recognize my cousin and son since they achieved the rank of Eagle Scout!
I'm so proud of these two young men! They worked so hard over the last few years to earn this award! They are living examples of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.
"On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."
"A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."
This wonderful celebration was a great example of my family's ability to work together even though we are located all across the country! I was in charge of flowers and table centerpieces. So, I special ordered flowers and had them shipped to my mom's house where we were staying.💐 The flowers arrived about 5 hours before we did so my mom and sister jumped right in and processed them for me!
We dragged in sometime that evening after a long 8 hour car ride. 🚙 I was so tired I don't even remember what we did that first night!
Friday found us assembling the centerpieces for the Birthday/Eagle celebration. I found the adage, "Many hands make light work" to be true as we set about dying rice, filling bubble jars, filling pint jars with candy, decorating, and crafting beautiful floral designs! It was a happy, full day.
That evening, we met Char and Charlie for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Ohio. 🌮 It had been about a year since we'd last seen them and was good to share stories over great food! I treasure the memories made that day!
We started Saturday bright and early by decorating the venue, the Niederman Family Farm rental barn, and ended it with a fabulous evening spent with family and friends!
Words cannot describe the joy it is to be this lovely lady's granddaughter. She is a great role model, exemplifying in her daily life the Scout Oath and all of the points of the Scout Law while demonstrating strength, beauty, patience, and grace to everyone she meets! I love her so much! ❤
Most of my family were able to make it in for the celebration! We truly missed the ones that couldn't make it.
I love looking at this picture! I have fond memories with everyone in it and even the ones that were not able to make it! It's good for the soul to reconnect with your family. The unconditional love and support we have for each other has been cultivated by my grandparents throughout the years. I am so blessed to be a part of this family! I pray that I too leave a lasting leagcy of unconditional love and support.
Sunday dawned to find my family preparing to attend a Fourth of July picnic at Paul's Uncle Robert's house. It was a nice picnic and we were able to catch up with family and friends we hadn't seen much of since we moved to Missouri. Paul's cousin and I collaborated on this floral design via facebook so she could be a part of the celebration too! (She lives states away and couldn't make it in) I think we did an amazing job!
It truly was a weekend that I will forever remember and cherish. 💗
